Expanding national services business is looking for a Technical Network Specialist.
With responsibility for providing technical design for all network, telecommunications and cyber protection incidents and projects, you work directly with all service teams to develop business solutions and provide on-boarding delivery. Providing 4th line support, you will lead on:
Technical consultancy assignments which involve specialists from various IT disciplines, and takes responsibility for the quality, timely delivery and appropriateness of the team`s recommendations
Reviewing processes surrounding the firewall and network infrastructure focusing on access and updates
Defining the security policy for the network service.
Coordinating network-related security activities such as intrusion & vulnerability tests, and responses to network-related security events such as DoS attacks.
Technical activity (design, build, testing, deployment) on significant and/or complex projects or portfolio of projects relating to network
Assessing business and service requirements and the design of the technical architecture for the business.
Undertaking peer reviews of deliverables and carries out formal and informal reviews of technical designs, standards, documentation and/or implementations.
Validating, testing and acceptance into service process and undertake appropriate test scripting and test execution for the functionality, performance and manageability of network services
Installations, debugging, maintenance, upgrades, and general support for Routers, L2 and L3 Switches, Firewalls, WAN Accelerators, Load balancers, etc
Developing, implementing, testting, and maintaining disaster recovery plans
Facilitate availability, capacity and continuity management processes including network sizing and performance, load testing
Correcting security vulnerabilities in network systems in response to problems identified in Vulnerability reports
Architecting network infrastructure for scalability and growth within the enterprise LAN and WAN
In addition you will actively seek to improve and develop own skills and knowledge base in appropriate areas and stay abreast of new technologies.
As a qualified Cisco Network Engineer, with at least CCNP, you will have proven experience of leading on network design, configuration and implementation projects. Specifically you will be highly experienced in routing (notably MPLS) and switching, Network security (e.g. Firewalls, load balancer, traffic visibility, AAA) as well as Network utilities (e.g. ICMP, Syslog, Traceoptions, Netflow, SNMP, Wireshark, etc). In addition you will possess:
• Experience of working with Internet filtering tools
• Strong knowledge of Cisco ISE / Prime
• An in-depth Networking experience (LAN, WAN, Wi-Fi, VoIP)
