Are you an experienced Health Protection or Infection Prevention Nurse with an interest in improving the health and wellbeing of those receiving care in health and social care settings?

Would you like the opportunity to lead service delivery within a new HPS Community Antimicrobial Resistance and Healthcare Associated Infection (CARHAI) health protection programme, ensuring it aligns to the Health and Social Care Standards (HDL(2018)3)?
Then, why not consider an opportunity to work as a Senior Nurse working jointly between Health Protection Scotland (HPS) and The Care Inspectorate (CI). The post will predominantly be based within the Care Inspectorate Improvement support team in the strategy and improvement directorate and will involve engaging with stakeholders of all levels within the health and social care providers.
The Care Inspectorate (CI) is the national scrutiny body which supports improvement in the social care sector. They inspect social care services for adults, children and young people and early learning in childcare. They also carry out joint strategic inspections with partner organisations and health and social care partnerships. Where they find that improvement is needed, services are supported to make positive changes.
We have an amazing opportunity for you to develop your skills and experience within our team. As a Senior Nurse you will;
Successful candidates will have excellent communication and organisational skills, knowledge of HPS, the CI, Care Home Sectors, Antimicrobial Resistance and HCAI issues.
The post is flexible and will be hosted by HPS and based jointly in Meridian Court, Glasgow and the CI (at a convenient location for the successful candidate in one of their offices). This is a national post which will require the successful candidate to regularly travel throughout Scotland.
The successful candidate will be required to undergo a PVG Scheme Disclosure Scotland check. Any candidate who has worked overseas for more than 3 months will also be required to provide a criminal record check from the appropriate overseas agency.
Candidates must have current NMC registration at the time of applying.
