Our client is a premium womenswear brand looking for an experienced Senior Garment Technologist/Technical Manager to join their growing team in their London studio. This brand is known for their exceptional designs and attention to detail.
Be responsible for the technical function for the team, ensuring a smooth and efficient process
Work closely with the Head of Design, organise and lead weekly fittings on new styles or garment improvement on existing styles
Ensuring that there is consistency across all aspects of the collections
Overseeing the technical critical path from the design handover to the end of the development process, reporting to and working closely with the Head of Product
Attend weekly meetings with the development, technical and production managers/team and lead the technical aspect of these meetings
Clear understanding of test reports and can advise suppliers where issues arise on how to proceed
Liaise with design and production, studios and factories as well as managing and developing the team of technologists, pattern cutters and a fit model
Signing off all Technical Packs and prioritising workload amongst the technical team
Ensure garments are finished to the required design brief, fit and quality standard
Support the sourcing team in terms of trouble shooting, fit for purpose, and technical input when necessary
Focus on continuous improvement through the ongoing analysis of product sales and returns, customer feedback, and competitor awareness
Maintain a knowledge of changes in legislation – including global changes/requirements
Local and overseas (mainly European) travel will be required.
The Ideal Candidate:
5 + years’ experience as a Womenswear Senior Garment Technologist
Must have a good understanding of garment construction as well as fitting experience
Strong knowledge of safety and legal requirements
Experience in managing test reposts/fabric performance
To be able to work well in a team
Able to work in a fast-paced environment and understand the importance of deadlines
To be flexible and skilled in their category but open to develop new skills through all product types
Highly proficient skill set in Excel, Word and Outlook.
