We are recruiting for an experienced Software Network Engineer to cover an interim period whilst we hire for a permanent member of the team. The ideal location for this role will be Belfast but we will also consider someone who can travel to either Redhill or Cambridge.

Job Description

The Secure Identity group build solutions based on the latest standards and technologies and aiming at securing cellular IoT and consumer devices bound to be deployed by trillions in the coming years. We are seeking an experienced Network Engineer to join our team.

As a member of the Secure Identity group you will work closely with senior team members to scope, design and implement creative solutions across world-class connectivity infrastructure and supporting systems, working within the team and with the wider organisation to deliver new deployments for Secure Identity projects. You will need to demonstrate experience in networking across a variety of platforms, with a detailed understanding of deploying and maintaining networking solutions in a cross-vendor infrastructure. You will need to work well in a fast-paced environment and be both a self-starter and adept at collaborating both within and outside the team to take on larger problems.

Working in an environment where your opinion matters, you will form an instrumental part of crafting the direction of the organisation while working in a dynamic, agile environment with like-minded, open and adaptable colleagues.

Job Requirements

You will be responsible for:

- Configuration and support of existing customer and Mobile Network Operator [MNO] connectivity within the organisations bespoke Core Network
- Planning and Implementation of new connectivity during complex MNO and customer integrations
- Good interpersonal skills; interaction with Infrastructure, Support and Service Delivery teams
- Continuing the organisations 'Secure by Design' philosophy in all implementations

Technical Skills & Experience

Essential

- Strong cross-platform networking skills
- Unix systems administration experience (Linux)
- Knowledge of RADIUS and associated AAA systems
- Awareness of various VPN implementations including IPsec, OpenVPN and L2TP
- Database knowledge - MongoDB
- Experience working with both service orientated architecture and microservice architectures
- Experience working with Cisco firewalls
- Experience working with Load Balancers and Traffic Management
- An understanding of project delivery through both Agile and Waterfall models
- BSc level degree in a meaningful Computing Science field or equivalent work experience

We would like you to have:

- Experience of integration between various Private- and Public-Cloud platforms
- A detailed understanding of BGP routing
- Experience of Database administration (MongoDB)
- Understanding of the challenges of networking with containerised solutions
- A qualification such as CCNA or an AWS/Azure cloud connectivity qualification would be helpful
- Evidence of working within a security framework such as ISO27001
