Main responsibilities

  • Key focus on the month-end process for UK retail. This includes full P+L ownership and elements of the Balance Sheet.
  • Preparing the UK Retail Forecasts through business partnering with Ted Baker budget holders, this includes reforecasting and 5 year plan.
  • Ensuring key schedules are prepared and maintained for internal and external reporting


  • Preparation and control of the UK retail P&L on a periodic basis.
  • Co-ordinating and consolidating the Group P+L in a timely manner on a periodic basis.
  • Preparation and control of the UK retail budgets and Forecast (P+L).

Balance Sheet

  • Working with the UK FM on Fixed Assets, working closely with the Commercial finance team and the business to ensure that the Fixed Assets are maintained on both a commercial and regulatory perspective.
  • Working with the UK FM on UK Debtors, working closely with the treasury team to make sure all payments are allocated accordingly and reconciled
  • Understanding of other Balance sheet lines, ensuring that they carry no risk and are fully reconciled on a periodic basis on Blackline.


  • Active involvement in the monthly group finance Board Pack with insightful and relevant commentary.
  • Active involvement in business/operational reporting on periodic basis to relevant areas of the business. (E.G Retail, Marketing etc.) including creation of new reporting to help analyse the business.


  • Good understanding of Retail and the relevant KPI’s that can help drive and control the business.
  • Supporting UK finance manager through actively Business Partnering with Budget holders to extract efficiency and provide challenge to their business area.
  • Analytical reviews into key spends to enable costs to be challenged
  • Provide monthly commercial support, through month end reporting, highlighting trends & forecast possibilities
  • Analytical reviews into UK concessions sales, to enable challenge to any variances
  • Concession cost reviews against contracts, to enable reviews with concession partners.


  • Be a key contact during the bi-annual and annual external audit.

Tools of the trade…

  • Part Qualified/qualified Accountant (CIMA/ACCA)

  • Previous experience of retail an advantage
  • Ability to be self-sufficient and enjoy being hands on along with being a key team player
