Summary of role: To supervise the day-to-day provision of the community care team, ensuring the most effective tailor-made service is provided to meet the assessed needs of the Customer, taking account of available resources but always aiming to implement the best quality service provision possible. This will include creating a programme of personal care and household management that is personalised for each customer in the form of a Care Plan. There will be a need to establish case priority, making intuitive, experienced based judgments in unanticipated or emergency situations. Supervising, on a daily basis, a team of community care workers, ensuring they are fully trained, provide a high quality service and embrace the company’s quality standards and ethos. As the role involves working with vulnerable people, including discussing personal care of an intimate nature, confidentiality, sensitivity, ensuring dignity and privacy, and appropriate behaviour are critical elements of this role.

Principal responsibilities: • To abide by all company policies and procedures • To embrace company ethos and philosophy • To abide by the CQC code of conduct and ethics and help ensure our compliance with CQC national standards • Care plan, risk assess and review every Customer’s care in line with company procedures and practices • Manage rostering to ensure appropriate and consistent staffing. Planning and organising the community care workers workloads along side the Registered Care Manager and Care Co-ordinator • Supervising and supporting the community care workers • Involvement with recruitment processes for community care workers • Deal with new customer enquiries • Deal with both customer and care worker queries • Ensure that there is good communication and effective team building amongst all staff, including holding regular team meetings • Ensure that all computerised and manual records are up to date • To actively participate in the growth and development of the business, locally, through various marketing exercises • To work inclusively, treating customers and colleagues irrespective of disability, race, colour, nationality, ethnic origin, sex, marital status, sexual orientation, religion or belief or age in a fair and respectful manner • To uphold confidentiality, adhering to company policies and procedures • To respect the wishes and preferences that Customers express

• Portray a professional image in the field - being the face of the Company and acting as our representative portraying a professional appearance • To complete all documentation in line with company standards • Participate in all training courses • Participate in meetings as appropriate and attend regular supervision sessions • Act rapidly when any changes may cause Customers alarm or put them in danger. Escalate concerns quickly and in line with all Safeguarding policies and procedures • Be particularly vigilant for signs of distress or anxiety in Customers. Any deterioration in physical or mental health, or safety of the environment, need to be resolved as a matter of urgency • Encourage Customers, according to their capabilities, to participate in all aspects of daily living activities • Develop and maintain strong working relationships with Customers and care teams • Liaise with other carers, agencies or professionals as necessary • Participation and support the business in covering care and support visits if circumstance requires at any time • Facilitating obtaining advice on security and safety around Customer’s homes • Share responsibility for our out-of-hours on call service
