Two Financial Advisers (St. James's Place Partners) require the support of a capable Business Support Assistant / Administrator to help in the growth of their businesses. The opportunity will provide a wide variety of work including dealing directly with clients, providers & other members of the team as well as back-office administrative support using Microsoft Office systems and an in-house Customer Management System.

The role will ideally suit a self-employed individual who will work across both businesses for a total of 30 hours per week. There is the potential for this to be increased in time with the anticipated growth in workload.

Based out of our Hartlepool office you will be working with the rest of the team in an informal but professional and driven environment. You will receive training on the systems used and the processes to be adopted by the businesses and will be a key part of the next stage of growth for these two businesses.

Scope of Role: Business Support Assistant

  • Answer telephone in a professional manner to clients, prospects and providers
  • Diary management for two Financial Advisors including booking client appointments and events
  • Writing confirmation letters and preparing meeting documentation as required
  • Maintaining client files and detialls
  • Collating client policy information from various providers
  • Inputting of data into internal systems and retrieving of information
  • Writing summary letters / e-mails to clients
  • Checking post and scanning, uploading and filing relevant documentation

Key Skills: Business Support Assistant

  • 5 GCSE’s (or equivalent) at C and above as a minimum including Maths and English
  • Proficient in Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and other Microsoft Office software.
  • Proven time management (punctuality) and diary management
  • Ability to work with deadlines within the team and individually
  • Attention to detail - right first time mentality
  • Good at communicating with all stakeholders, clients and providers in a suitably professional manner
  • Typing and the ability to take dictation
  • Strong writing and numeracy skills are essential
  • Clear and professional telephone manner
  • Problem solving, quick thinking and the ability to work autonomously
  • Quick and proactive learner
  • Experience of providing business support in the Financial Services industry or similar is preferable, but not essential
  • Ability to work flexibly and respond positively to the demands of a varied working environment
