Admin Apprentice

Employ Recruitment are hiring a Administrator Apprentice to work in the Operations department at their office in Ashbourne, Derbyshire.

This will be a 40 hour week working 9am - 5.30pm. Rate of pay is above the National Apprenticeship Wage.

Alongside this, the candidate will undertake a Level 2 NVQ Apprenticeship through Derby College.

The Recruitment Administrator Apprentice will provide general administration and office support to all departments within the business; Operations, Finance and Compliance. They will learn current employment legislation and put this into practice. They will cover all aspects of office duties as required and learn customer service skills such as excellent communication, organisation, time management and database skills to enable you to complete your course successfully. They will assist the departments on a daily basis and achieve an overall understanding of recruitment within the transport industry.

The role will include a variety of tasks within the business:

General Office Duties:

  • First point of call for all incoming telephone and visitor enquiries.
  • Communicate clearly and professionally in written and aural forms
  • General office duties - photocopying, faxing, scanning, post, telephone, etc.
  • Respond promptly to customer enquiries via phone and email
  • Provide support to the Operations, Finance and Compliance department.
  • Recruitment Duties:
  • Support the Recruitment Consultants in matching drivers to complete a shift
  • Resolving queries, problems and changes to schedules
  • Follow up on candidate interactions
  • Prepare and distribute candidate information i.e. timesheets, assignment schedules.
  • Keep daily records of customer recruitment interactions
  • Arranging interviews for potential candidates
  • Updating and maintaining candidate registrations
  • Completing references for new candidates

Finance:

  • Ensure we have the right information to pay new drivers correctly
  • Support the weekly process of payroll
  • Liaise with drivers regarding holiday and pay queries

Compliance:

  • Monitor the working time directive, EU driver hours and rest periods
  • Keep up to date with current legislation
  • Ensure SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures) are being followed
  • Comply with all Health and Safety procedures
  • Assist with audits as appropriate

Candidate Requirements:

The successful candidate must hold GCSE (C - A*) in English and Maths in order to undertake this apprenticeship.
