This is a fantastic opportunity to join a dynamic and growing insurer, with the chance to work with key members of the actuarial, risk and finance teams across all aspects of Solvency II. The role covers first-line activity across all three pillars of Solvency II.

As a Solvency II Actuary you would provide and co-ordinate first line reporting on all actuarial information required to fulfil Solvency II requirements in respect of the business. Carrying out appropriate financial, statistical and risk investigations to inform decision making including reviewing Claims Analytics to understand any changes in claims trends and investigate further where appropriate. In addition to this proactively raise and provide technical solutions for any relevant area that presents a capital management opportunity or solvency threat for the company. Supporting any engagement with relevant Regulators (ie PRA and FCA) and respond to issues relating to capital adequacy, solvency and other actuarial matters would also form part of the role. Produce the 5-year solvency projections for the ORSA and the related Stress & Scenario testing calculations (Prophet and Excel calculation work). Helping to produce the ORSA report. Analysing the risk profile and re-assessment of standard formula appropriateness. Assisting with risk appetite work; and identifying opportunities to improve the Solvency II Prophet model and/or calculation process as well as testing any proposed changes before feeding this back to the actuarial reporting team.

Role requirements:
Fellowship level of the Institute and Faculty of Actuaries or equivalent (qualified for at least 5 years).
Excellent report-writing, planning and organisational skills.
Excellent interpersonal, communication and influencing skills with an emphasis on achieving results and successful outcomes through consultation and conciliation. Ability to work and communicate with staff at all levels.
Demonstrable experience with general insurance and/or life insurance. Strong knowledge of general insurance markets.
A proactive mindset: challenging requirements, seeing things from a customer's viewpoint and exploring new directions from results of analyses.
Objective, analytical and lateral thinker with a positive attitude.
