This is an interesting, varied and challenging role working for a division of a successful local business that combines elements of both Project Administration and Accounting. The position is very much financially driven and will focus on controlling costs and looking after income on a project by project basis and will suit someone with a mixture of Accounting and strong Admin support skills.

Working in a team of 4 using Excel, Sage and Word and reporting to the Divisional Manager, the role will include:

Obtaining quotes from Subcontractors and comparing prices.
Plant and machinery control by site including movement and cost allocation by project.
Maintaining client contract records together with company insurances, BACS payment and CIS details and other company secretarial information from the Finance Director.
Responsible for Income control, working closely with both the business’ internal and the external client accounts departments.
Recording of contract payment receipts and KPI’s, chasing payments on occasion.
Overall retentions control/records.
Internal project valuation/receipt analysis – profit and loss, month ends.
WIP reconciliation and year end control.
Subcontractor payment control and authorisation.
Agency labour control and payment authorisation.
VAT control (charges out, receipts in and liaison with the Accounts team)
Control of Subcontractors CIS/insurance records etc.
Pre contract administration, maintaining details for tenders.
Providing support for Site and Contract Managers.
General office administration, taking / distributing meeting minutes.

This role could suit someone with a background in Accounts looking for some more variation in general business support, or someone with more of an Administrative bias as long as they have had some involvement in the type of Financial support detailed.
